Sajek Valley is a magnificent  tourist spot of natural beauty located in Sajek Union of Baghaichhari Upazila of Rangamati District, Bangladesh. It is located in the middle of the Hills of Kasalong Range Mountains with an elevation of 450 meters or 1476 feet above sea level. Sajek is a union of Rangamati hill district located in the north of Chittagong Hill Tracts, the union is located in Baghaichari Upazila. Sajek is located 68 km north east of Khagrachari district and 95 km north of Rangamati district headquarters. To the east of Sajek lies the Indian state of Mizoram, which is approximately 8 km away.

The Sajek Valley is indeed home to the indigenous people. There are indigenous people like Chakma Marma Tripura Lusai etc whose simple life will fascinate us. How to Go Sajek Valley

The ideal time to travel to Sajek Valley is from June to November when there is more cloud movement. Sajek is the home of clouds so it is better if you plan your travel from June to November but you can enjoy the beauty of Sajek all year. There is no route directly from the capital of Bangladesh Dhaka to Sajek. If you want to travel to Sajek by private transport, you are welcome. You won’t get any car to go to Sajek directly and publicly. But you can go from Dhaka to Khagrachari and you can easily go to Sajek from Khagrachari.

Buses leave for Khagrachari daily from Gabtoli Bus Terminal, Kalabagan Bus Terminal, Kalyanpur Bus Terminal and Sayedabad Bus Terminal in the capital Dhaka. You can go to Khagrachari by Saudia Paribahan, Shyamoli Paribahan, BRTC, Shanti Paribahan, Eagle Paribahan, Hanif Paribahan, Saintmartin Paribahan or S. Alam Paribahan. You have to get down from the vehicle at Khagrachari Shapla Chattar. By contacting the transport company counter you can reach Khagrachari from any major bus stop outside the capital.

Route to Sajek Valley

Usually all these vehicles leave Dhaka from 10 pm to 11:30 pm and reach Khagra Khagrachari in the early morning. It will take six to seven hours to travel from Dhaka to Khagrachari, if there is any mechanical fault, the time may take a little more. En route you are given a 20 minute break at Comilla to relieve your travel fatigue from where you can have a light breakfast. When you enter the Khagrachari road from the Dhaka-Chittagong highway, you will see the roads winding through the dense forest like a huge snake.

When you reach Khagrachari Shapla Chattar you will get different types of vehicles to go to Sajek. From here usually if 12 to 15 people want to go  in one car you have to take a local “Chander Gari“, if 10 to 12 people want to go in one car you have to take a jeep car. If 3 to 4 people want to go , you can take a CNG. If 2 people want to go, you can take a motorbike. If you want to go alone, you can take a motorbike or join any other group, that will be the best option for you. But whatever type of vehicle you go for, you must fix the fare in advance.

There are a few types of owner associations that have specific rent categories. You understand everything and then arrange the car. Which will take you to Sajek valley the same car will bring Khagrachari back from Sajek. Usually the car rental depends on how many days and nights you stay in Sajek and what sightseeing you want to do in Khagrachari and around Sajek on those. You will get down from the bus, freshen up and have breakfast and leave for Sajek in your chosen vehicle.

Mountain Path of Sajek

From Khagrachari Shapla square to Sajek, the mountain road cutting through the green forest on both sides will remove all your travel fatigue. An irresistible love will be felt. You will Lose yourself in nature. The first recognized market you will come across on the way to Sajek is Dighinala Bazar. It is a big Sikrit Bazar 27 km from Shapla Chattar where you can buy some dry food and fruits.

From Dighinala Bazar you have to go to Bagaihat Army Camp. Worried, why in the army camp? There is nothing to fear Sajek Valley is the only tourist center in Bangladesh which is guarded by the Bangladesh Army itself. From this Bagaihat Army Camp, the army security will drop you twice a day to Sajek and pick you up from there at 10 am and 2:45 pm. In the language of the army, it is called a skirt. You have to join the skirt of any of these two periods and then go.

Sajek-Valley-Helipad

The last place where we have to break the journey on the way to Sajek is called Machalong Haat, all the vehicles coming from Khagrachari take a break here. Because it is a hilly road, the car engines have to cool down, usually after a break of 10 to 20 minutes, you will start your journey and reach the paradise of nature, Sajek Valley. It is 68 km from Khagrachari and 40 km from Dighinala Bazaar.
